Dear Student,
I am sorry to hear about the situation you had. But it was great that you said, his behavior was inappropriate. Please report it to your cooperative education teacher or principal immediately if you did not inform them.

Both federal and provincial human rights commissions provide employers with frameworks to protect workers’ rights and dignity. Every employee has the right to be free from sexual harassment from other employees, supervisors and customers.

As the harasser is your co-worker, you can complain to your
supervisor/manager to take necessary action against him. As you are
uncomfortable to work with him you may request your senior officials for
another project or transfer to another office location. If the case is unresolved by your employer, then investigation starts when you file a complaint at The Human Rights Tribunal to settle the complaint. If it is not resolved, it moves to the next stage or may be dismissed. You should keep records of what was said and done to you, where it happened, who was involved, and the names of any witnesses to prove that you had sexual harassment in the elevator or in the office.

I hope that this case is solved soon without any further issues.

Best Regards,
